At TLC we do pet therapy with some of our rescue veterans... These are my two Chihuahuas who regularly go into a senior living facility and brighten the days of those residents... BeeGee is a 'rescue failure' because she didn't match the carpet at one home and the other was unhappy with the lazy tongue, weird 'swagger' walk (she's a Chi-Weenie - 1/2 Doxie, 1/2 Chi), etc... Then we discovered during a routine teeth cleaning that she's a liver shunt dog and not a candidate for the surgery (like Frito, her sleeping bud)...
Even the rescued dogs that come from the worst circumstances can bring infinite amounts of joy to those who love them for what they are, imperfect as we all are... I've labeled this photo 'Contentment' 'cause it says it all to me...
